Hey there! I’m Japinder, but everyone calls me Jay! Here’s a quick peek into my world: henna, my signature red hair, and my beloved bunny, Coffee. The last picture you see is from the day I adopted my little furball – it may not be the fanciest photo, but it's meaningful to me.

About Me and My Henna Journey
I'm currently pursuing a business degree, and I'm also a full-time, self-taught henna artist. My love affair with henna began in 2007, in India, when my grandparents – Nana Ji and Nani Ji – took me to a beauty parlour in Amritsar, Punjab. Seeing henna artistically applied to my hands and feet left me mesmerized. The artist’s skill in creating intricate designs on the spot was pure magic! I was already drawn to art through water and oil painting, but henna felt special, like “love at first sight.”

I brought some henna cones back to Canada and started practicing on myself, which quickly caught the attention of my friends and classmates. Henna became more than a hobby; it was my creative outlet and soon turned into a small business. My close friends and family encouraged me to follow my passion for henna as I pursued my studies. Now, back in Calgary, I’ve continued to grow as an artist, bringing my heart and soul into each design.
